Stephen Strasburg wins minor league finale

Buffalo (WKBW.Com) He'll make his highly anticipated Major League debut on June 8th, but today baseball's top prospect, Stephen Strasburg was on display in Buffalo. The pitching phenom pitched five scoreless innings, and led the Syracuse Chiefs to a 7-1 win over the Buffalo Bisons on Thursday.



In front of close to 15,000 fans at Coca-Cola Field, Strasburg struck out five and gave up 3 hits in five innings of work. He finished the day with 89 pitches, 54 were thrown for strikes.



The number one pick in the 2009 draft will now make his Major League debut for the Washington Nationals on June 8th, against the Pittsburgh Pirates. He made 11 starts at the minor league level, and finished 4-1 with the Syracuse Chiefs.
