Officers say minors tend to drink at parking lots around the area when there is concert event like today's.
"There are certain parking lots, private areas...we call it "the hill" that are known as somewhat of an underage drinking area. The reputation gets around, even among locals that it's not necessarily patrolled like the regular Darien Lake parking lots are," said Sergeant Brian Frieday of the Genesee County Sheriff's Department.
The county sheriff's department partnered with the state police to patrol inside and outside the concert. The state police are also conducting a sobriety checkpoint at an undisclosed area near the concert.
Authorities say the amounts of patrols are based on how many people the concert is expected to draw in. Last year, they issued hundreds of underage drinking citations following a Kid Rock concert.
