Strasburg helping Bisons' ticket sales

The Buffalo Bisons' June 3 home game against the Syracuse Chiefs is turning into one of the hottest tickets in town.

The reason?

Syracuse Chiefs' pitching ace Stephen Strasburg is scheduled to make his final Triple-A level start before being summoned to the National League's Washington Nationals. Strasburg is regarded as baseball's best pitching prospect in decades.

The right-handed pitcher has a 3-1 record in five starts with the Chiefs with a 1.27 era while giving up just four earned runs in slightly more than 28 innings pitched.

Strasburg is expected to throw about 100 pitches, which should take him into at least the sixth inning.

"Tickets for the game are going very well," said Brad Bisbing, Bisons' spokesman.

Since the Chiefs announced over the weekend that Strasburg would start in Buffalo and would likely be called up by the Nationals just after the game, there has been a big buzz about the game.

First pitch is set for 1 p.m..

"Given the buzz, I'd advise fans to get their tickets early," Bisbing said.

The Bisons ticket office is open daily at 9 a.m. and will remain open until games on Tuesday and Wednesday - also against the Chiefs - are completed. Tickets can also be purchased online at bisons.com.
