The University at Buffalo has been awarded a new state grant of $3.5 million to support stem cell research.
The Empire State Stem Cell Board is spending $30.5 million in state funding to maximize the quality of stem cell research in New York. UB was among 10 research institutions selected.

New York State construction jobs are slowly on the rise. The Associated General Contractors of America says 29 states added construction jobs in April. New York's construction sector grew 1.2 percent, but it's still down 4.5 percent from a year ago. Kansas had the largest increase. Maine saw the biggest drop.

The NFTA is considering dropping bus service to Ralph Wilson Stadium for Buffalo Bills games. The NFTA runs seven routes to the stadium. They say the bus from Downtown Buffalo fills up, but others don't. The NFTA will hold public hearings on the issue in July and is trying to work out a deal with the Bills to keep the service.
