A little rain on Saturday didn't stop hundreds of walkers who want to help save some lives in the community. They took part in the 18th annual AIDS Walk in Buffalo's Delaware Park. Channel 7's John Borsa served as honorary chairman of this year's event. The walk raises money to help those living with HIV and AIDS, and the event also honors those who've passed on.
"The majority of the people we serve live in dire poverty so it's not just giving medications to them it's finding housing and helping them pay for the housing, it's feeding them. Last year we provided over 50,000 meals," says Christopher Voltz of AIDS Community Services.
Organizers say this fundraising event is extra important this year because the economy is still struggling.
