Visitors to Niagara Falls have a new option when looking for overnight accommodations.
The Red Coach Inn has added a dozen guest rooms to the 19 it currently has above the popular Buffalo Avenue restaurant. The new guest rooms are part of a $900,000 renovation to the Red Coach complex and fueled by the demand for the extra rooms.
The Red Coach offers dramatic views of Goat Island and the upper rapids of Niagara Falls.
The expansion was financed, partially, by a $100,000 grant from the USA Niagara Development Corp., and a $50,000 grant from the City of Niagara Falls.
The new rooms will debut on Thursday, the same day that USA Niagara unveils a renovated stretch of Old Falls Street, running between Prospect Street and Rainbow Boulevard.
Old Falls Street has been re-opened to pedestrian and vehicular traffic, a move that was made possible by the demolition of the former Wintergarden property.
A series of special events are planned to encourage people to re-visit Old Falls Street.
