Olympic Towers Up for Auction

Bids are being accepted for Downtown Buffalo's Olympic Towers. The online auction opened yesterday with a starting price of $1 million. The building was last sold in 2008 for about $8.5 million. Bids will be accepted through May 20.

New York State manufacturing dipped in May. The Federal Reserve Bank's Empire State Manufacturing Index dropped to 19 in May compared to almost 32 in April. The employment index rose to its highest level since 2004.

More Americans are paying their credit card bills on time. TransUnion says only 1.1 percent of Americans were 90 days or more late with payments in the first quarter, down from 8.3 percent the previous quarter, and down from more than 16 percent a year ago.

Carubba & Sons is planning an Amherst expansion. The company has acquired a site on Transit Road near Casey with plans for an automotive based retail plaza. Business First says it will be anchored by CarQuest, Carubba Collision and Becker's Towing.
