BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Students from Cloverbank Elementary School in Hamburg, NY are making a big donation for cancer patients.

Kindergarten and first grade students raised $2,749 by selling 500 hand made beaded bracelets. Each bracelet has 16 beads to represent 16 different types of cancer.

Monday, those students gathered on the steps of Gilda's Club in Buffalo to present their check.

Gilda's Club offers support services to people battling cancer.

Last year Cloverbank Elementary lost teacher Lois Koss to cancer, and the students wanted to do something special to honor her memory.
