Gowanda, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) - Instead of practicing on the field, several Gowanda High School Lacrosse players were protesting outside of the school recently.

They are upset with a decision to cancel the rest of their season after a locker room fight was posted on the video sharing website YouTube.

The players say the fight was "playful" in nature but Gowanda School Superintendent, who viewed the video, says it was anything but child's play.

He says the video, which has since been removed from the website, shows a graphic battle between three members of the team with several others cheering them on.

As a punishment the Superintendent decided to cancel the rest of the successful lacrosse team's season.

Some players agree the fight was not acceptable but think the punishment is way too harsh.
