Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) - They blew whistles, used noisemakers, held signs.
State workers are not keeping quiet about a plan to make them stay home one day a week without pay.
More than 250 workers protested outside of the Ellicott Square building in downtown Buffalo Monday afternoon.
The furlough plan is part of Governor David Paterson's emergency spending bill-- which state lawmakers must vote on. They are powerless to change it.
Lawmakers say no action will lead to a complete state government shutdown, which according to many of them, is not an option.
