WALES, NY (WKBW) -- In the Town of Wales, there is a small, desolate cemetery with a big reputation.
"The main thing I heard was about the hauntings on Halloween," said Nate Damon, a Boy Scout who has taken a special interest in the cemetery.
And while known for ghost stories, it's the more tangible problem that has folks worried about the unique plot of history. Vandalism.
At last count there were over 100 people buried in the plot, with only a dozen or so still visibly marked. Vandals and ghost hunters have taken off with pieces of shattered gravestones over the past many years.
However a new effort is underway by a local Boy Scout who has a plan to return some respect to the old cemetery by forming a cleanup committee.
