"No progress, no peace," chant the protesters outside the Central Park Plaza in Buffalo on Saturday. The Help Revitalize Central Park Plaza Committee wants to draw attention to the decaying shopping plaza in which they say the absentee landlord refuses to invest any resources. The 26-plus acre property has become a hazard with no lighting and broken fixtures.
"We want the city to do what they're supposed to do and if they can't him to work with them take it from him," says Daria Pratcher at the protest, "We want the park redeveloped. Central park must be redeveloped."
The committee is looking for developers with ideas for the property.
