ALBANY, N.Y. -- ( WTEN ) Joe Bruno has been sentenced to 2 years in prison, nearly 5 months to the day he was convicted on 2 charges of corruption.
The case against Bruno played out for nearly a year and cost millions of dollars.
On January 23, 2009, a federal grand jury indicted the former State Senator on 8 charges, including theft of honest services. It wasn't until November 2 and 3 that jury selection began, followed by opening statements. On November 24, the jury started deliberations.
They delivered a verdict on December 7, after seven full days of deliberating.
