Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW-TV)- At the ChezAnn Salon on Delaware Avenue in Buffalo, stylists are no longer trashing hair they cut, they're packing it up.
"We are sending it to the national organization called a Matter of Trust, which will take the hair and make sponges to soak up the oil from the oil spill", says employee James Hickey.
The folks at New Age Salon on Hertel are doing the same.
They joins hundreds of salons from across the country collecting hair to send down south.
The clippings will be used to create oil absorbing mats which will be used in the clean-up efforts along the Gulf Coast-- areas affected by the massive oil spill.
