The Buffalo Police Department's Internal Affairs Division is investigating a two-car crash involving an unmarked police cruiser that sent two officers to the hospital.

The accident occurred just before 3 p.m. at the corner of Paderewski Drive and Krettner Street on the city's east side.

The unmarked patrol car was responding to a call, traveling the wrong way on a one-way street, said police spokesman Michael DeGeorge.

The other vehicle, driven by a 20-year-old woman, collided with the police car, DeGeorge said.

The officers, whose identities have not been released, were not seriously injured and were undergoing evaluations at Erie County Medical Center late this afternoon.

Charges are pending against the woman because she allegedly ran a stop sign, DeGeorge said.
