WKBW (Mayville) -- Southern Tier tea party members took over the front steps of the Chautauqua County Courthouse to voice their support of the constitution. They are also voicing their lack of support for President Obama's policies, and today's state and federal tax policies.

The tea party movement has had major support through out the country -- and some major successes. The tea party is credited with helping Republican Scott Brown take Ted Kennedy's Massachusetts Senate seat. Today's tea party focus in Mayville was replacing Democratic Congressman Brian Higgins.

A front runner in the race for Governor of New York Sate, however, is not so clear. Republican Gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino has the Buffalo tea party's support, according to Rus Thompson. But in the Southern Tier, few tea party supporters are familiar with the controversial developer or his current email scandal.

Tea party supporters tell us the bi-partisan tea party supporters act independently, so it's still anybody's race
