KENMORE, NY ( WKBW ) All it took was an e-mail from a student at his old high school requesting a visit, and CNN's Wolf Blitzer gladly obliged.

News anchor and host of "The Situation Room," Wolf Blitzer returned to Kenmore West Friday afternoon to meet with students, and answer their questions in the school's auditorium.

Senior Ben Stilson sent Blitzer an e-mail asking if he would come to the school. Once Blitzer's scheduled opened up, he replied he would be happy to do so.

Blitzer told Eyewitness News, "The kids are really enthusiastic, so smart, and so much more creative. Much more than we were in high school. It's really a dramatic change, and I'm so proud of them. The advice I gave them is to go forth, and do what you really want to do."

Blitzer signed an archive copy of his yearbook from his graduating class...1966. Blitzer grew up in North Buffalo, and then Kenmore, before moving on and eventually landing on the Cable News Network.

After speaking at the high school, Wolf Blitzer was honored at the University at Buffalo with the College's Alumni Achievement Award.
