Police Officers Honored in Niagara County

NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW) -- The Niagara County Legislature honored five heroes Tuesday night who risked their lives in the line of duty to save others.

Niagara County Sheriff's deputy Roger Schneader II was honored for saving a victim from her burning car after a crash last August.

New York State Troopers William Persinger and Edward Stefik were honored for rescuing a suspect involved in a domestic dispute whose life was in danger.

Niagara Falls Police officers Michael Bird and Walter Nichols were wounded after being shot while responding to a domestic dispute in the City of Niagara Falls.
