BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- Here are some of the top stories from Good Morning Western New York.

Several fire departments battled at blaze in downtown Fredonia Monday night. Crews responded just before 9:00 p.m. Monday night at 5 East Main Street in the village. Investigators say that a candle on the second floor of the apartment building caused the fire.

At least 25 workers are dead following an explosion at a West Virginia coal mine while several others are still missing. CNN has a full report.

City of Buffalo officials are considering bringing wind turbines to the city. The common council will be reviewing the idea today.
