BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -- Buffalo developer Carl Paladino has launched his campaign for New York Governor.
Paladino officially entered the race for the Republican nomination at 6:01 p.m. from the atrium at the Ellicott Square Building.
Paladino soaked in the applause before asking the crowd, "Are you mad as hell?" He followed with critical comments of leadership in Albany and launched into his platform for change.
The businessman has been crisscrossing the state for several weeks meeting with potential supporters.
Paladino has pledged to put up $10 million of his own money.
He faces competition from former Congressman Rick Lazio and Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy, a Democrat who is seeking the Republican nomination.
Democrat Andrew Cuomo, New York's Attorney General, is expected to announce his candidacy sometime this spring.
Channel 7's John Borsa will have more on Paladino's run, what he had to say, and reaction from Western New Yorkers.
