GRAND ISLAND, NY (WKBW) -- 7-year-old Taylor Dawidowicz's actions on March 26 are a prime example of why emergency training is so important for kids.
Young Taylor dialed 9-1-1 to ask for help when her mother fell ill and passed out.
Taylor's mother had taught her young daughter where to find the cell phone and what to do in case of an emergency. As it turns out, the training paid off.
Firefighters gave Taylor a tour of the fire station and fist full of goodies to emphasize what a good job she performed. Taylor's mother and her classmates are even calling her a hero.
