CHEEKTOWAGA, NY ( WKBW ) There are a lot of loves in Emily Brady's life, and most of them are furry with four legs!

Emily owns a doggie day care and grooming business in Cheektowaga called "Fisher's Friends," named after her own black lab.

There is good reason that Emily is being recognized as an outstanding "Woman In Leadership."

Her business started out with a handful of dogs more than 5 years ago, and has now exploded. Fisher's friends provide day care now for as many as 60 dogs. She has a busy grooming salon, and employs seven people.

It seems hard to believe that Emily had trouble getting the money to start the business. She told Channel 7's Joanna Pasceri that plenty of banks turned down her request for a loan.

The economic downturn has helped her bottom line. As more people went back to work, more dogs needed a place to stay.

Emily's facility looks like day care center, and is continuing to grow!
