BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW - AM/BUFFALO ) Chef's Italian restaurant is a downtown Buffalo institution. The famous eatery at Seneca and Chicago Streets has been a longtime favorite of Sabres fans and the Sabres themselves.

In the 1970's, owner Lou Billittier formed a lifelong bond with the famed "French Connection," Gilbert Perreault, Rene Robert, and the late Rick Martin. Lou Jr. is continuing that legacy.

Friday, new Sabres owner Terry Pegula joined Billittier for the unveiling of the new "French Connection" room in honor of the legendary players.

On Channel 7's "AM/Buffalo" program recently, Billittier showed Jon Summers the new room, and how recent renovations to the bar area include materials taken from the original Memorial Auditorium.
