There are currently over 10,000 New York State residents in need of a life saving organ transplant.
New York State currently ranks last in the nation as far as registered organ donors.
Ten percent of those noted as waiting for life saving transplant will either die because the organs they need are not available or will have become too ill while waiting, to be viable patients for transplant.
One single donor can provide up to 8 people with life saving organs and greatly impact at least fifty other through tissue donation.
