Jennifer Stanonis is a Northern California native who calls Buffalo her 'home away from home'. She moved to Western New York and joined 7 News in September 2005.

Previously, Jennifer was a weather anchor, weekend news anchor, and general assignment reporter for two years at KCWY in Casper, Wyoming. There she covered the news and weather of the entire state, including national stories such as the "Lisa Marie Kimmell Trial" and deadly tornadoes. Jennifer was also sent to cover the launch of Space Shuttle Discovery in July, 2005 at the Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Before her time spent in Wyoming, Jennifer worked for a year and a half at KRON 4 News in San Francisco while getting her broadcast journalism degree at San Francisco State University where she was awarded a journalism scholarship. She graduated in three years with honors and was chosen to make the commencement speech at graduation. She was also president of College Students in Broadcasting for the San Francisco Bay Area for two years and spent time working as an entertainment host for a Bay Area entertainment show, Soundwaves.

Jennifer has received several awards including an Associated Press, Best Documentary News Series Award. She is currently getting her meteorology degree.

Jennifer made her first on camera debut as a model, doing work for Express and runway modeling for Macy's. She also won the title Miss Wyoming International in 2005 but decided not to compete nationally and instead continue her career in broadcast television.

In her spare time she enjoys a variety of activities including scuba diving, rock climbing, sculling, and playing the piano. In the Western New York area her top outdoor picks are cross country skiing, golfing, running, and playing tennis!
