Bridget Blythe grew up helping her mom around their horse farm in Upstate New York, in a little town called Ballston Lake in Saratoga County. Even though she was born in Manhattan and lived there for a few years - - and still has family there - - she considers herself to be a country girll who loves the outdoors.

Before joining the Eyewitness News team, Bridget was what's known as a "one man band" or "multi media journalist" at Capital News 9 in Albany. That means, she went out with her camera, got the video for her stories, wrote and edited them and presented them too.

You can see Bridget Monday through Friday, on "Good Morning Western New York" and on "Eyewitness News At Noon". She produces our noon newscasts as well.

A graduate of the University at Albany, Bridget majored in Political Science. But she was also busy performing with the University's theater department and held various internships at radio and television stations while going to school.

In her free time, Bridget stays busy exercising, volunteering and spending time with her amazing friends. She's even found a way to combine all of that - - by getting involved with the WNY Chapter of the Luekemia and Lymphoma Society and their Team in Training Program.

After completing the Buffalo Half Marathon in May of 2009 with some of her colleagues at Channel 7, she started training for a marathon in San Francisco (October 2009), while also raising money to help fight blood cancers.

With help from viewers like you, she raised $3800 for the local LLS/TNT chapter.

Next up ... more fundraising for LLS and a full marathon in Orlando in January of 2010. Her goal, is again $3800.
