Ed Reilly is a Multi-Media Journalist on Eyewitness News.

Ed is the oldest of eight kids and grew up in Niagara Falls, NY. He was a member of the first graduating class from Niagara Catholic High School in 1976, and received his BA from Niagara University in 1980.

He started at WKBW-TV as an intern in January of 1980 and was hired full time later that year.

In a career that has spanned more than three decades, Ed won awards from the Associated Press, United Press International, National Press Photographers Association, and was nominated for a New York Emmy.

In August 2009, Ed was promoted to Multi-Media Journalist.

His journalistic career continues a family legacy that his father started in the 1950's. Over four decades, Edward Reilly Sr, was an active newsman for the Niagara Gazette, WHLD radio in Niagara Falls, and the Tonawanda News. In the late 1980's, both father and son worked for Eyewitness News as news photographers.

Ed and his wife Pam (a former Channel 7 Sports intern herself) They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2011, . They have four grown children: Edward III, Joseph, Matthew, & Laura.

In November 2011, they celebrated the happy arrival of their first grandchild - Elsa Reilly born in California.

Ed is an active volunteer in the community having spent many years as a Boy Scout leader, and donating his time to help local schools.

During his spare time, Ed’s hobbies include camping, reading, and model aviation.

Some highlights of Ed's career:

- Shot exclusive award-winning video of an angry father stabbing his daughter’s abductor after her escape (1983). The video was aired on ABC’s Nightline & HBO.

- Helped produce the nationally acclaimed "Cry for Life" project with Ann Edwards. The stories, and music video featuring Frankie and Chrissi Scinta, promoted a drug-free lifestyle for teenagers. It was given an award from the White House and presented by President Ronald Reagan.

- Traveled to the United Arab Emirates to cover the USAFR 914th deployment in the first Gulf War (December 1990) with Keith Radford.

- Covered Pope John Paul II visits to Miami, Detroit, and Toronto with Sheila Mahoney and Helen Tederous.

-Recognized by the Submarines Veterans and N.P.P.A. for his story about the USS Croaker restoration in Buffalo (2008).

-Awarded 2012 Backpack Journalist of the Year Award by the Buffalo Broadcasters Association.
