
Patrick Taney
Patrick anchors “Eyewitness News This Morning” Weekday mornings from 5-7am and the news updates in "Good Morning America".
Patrick Taney is no stranger to the area. He is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo. Patrick left there in 1998 with a B.A. degree in communications. He grew up in nearby Geneva, New York, before pursuing his career in broadcast journalism.
Patrick came to Channel 7 from WZVN-TV in Fort Myers, Florida where he spent two years as morning news anchor for the three hour broadcast there. In addition, Patrick produced investigative reports.
Before that, Patrick held reporting and substitute anchor positions at WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, FL; KHOG-TV in Fayetteville, AR; and Cable 13 in Leighton, PA.
While in Florida, Patrick was a board member of the Children’s Advocacy Center working to not only promote the charity, but also assist in the overall operation. Patrick hosted many events on behalf of the stations he worked for, and now participates in activities to help the Western New York community, including the Variety Kids Telethon and other WKBW sponsored initiatives.
Patrick makes his home in Buffalo.
