WKBW-TV INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTIONS
NEWS
*Now accepting applications for the Fall Semester Only*
The goal of the WKBW-TV News Internship program is to give students the opportunity to observe all aspects of what it takes to get News covered...to get those newscasts on the air...and to work under deadline pressure. Intern responsibilities include answering phones, doing research, logging feeds, accompanying crews out in the field, and helping to develop story ideas. Students will work closely with Producers, Reporters, and Photojournalists. The best interns will leave WKBW-TV with a good working knowledge of what goes on in a newsroom.
SPORTS
*Now accepting applications for the Fall Semester Only*
Sports interns at WKBW-TV help us as they help themselves get practical experience in broadcast journalism. Their responsibilities are not necessarily difficult, yet are important in putting a good product on the air. Duties typically include logging sporting events in the field or off television, finding footage or sound cuts off feed tapes or file tapes, assisting Sports Reporters in interviewing newsmakers, and editing videotape for sport files (not for broadcast). Additionally, interns participate in reviewing nightly sportscasts on WKBW-TV and its competitors. Interns will gain knowledge in what is required on a daily basis to put a quality sportscast on the air.

PROGRAMMING/AM/BUFFALO – PM/BUFFALO
*Now accepting applications for the Fall Semester Only*
The Programming Department is looking for creative students who want to embrace the experience of LIVE television. "AM/Buffalo" and "PM/Buffalo!" need interns who know how to "do it all” from the simplest of tasks in making guests comfortable in the studio to researching interesting topics, working on live remote production segments, and the administrative tasks associated with helping the producers, reporters, and hosts. Several former interns have jobs in the industry, but the experience is only as good as what you bring to the table.
