Pittsburgh (WKBW) The Buffalo Sabres had scored three or more goals in six straight games but couldn't beat Marc-Andre Fleury on Monday night. The Pittsburgh goaltender stopped all 24 Buffalo shots as the Penguins handed the Sabres a 3-0 loss at the Consol Energy Center.
It was the seventh loss in the last nine games for the Sabres (14-29-7).
Chris Kunitz opened the scoring for Pittsburgh with his 26th goal of the season at 5:44 of the second period. Deryk Engelland added his 4th of the year at 12:05. Tanner Glass added an empty net goal for the Penguins late in the third period.
Ryan Miller made 31 saves in the loss. The Sabres get right back at it on Tuesday night when the team hosts the Washington Capitals at the First Niagara Center.
